All about time

One constant focus in my life (and I suspect anyone else who is reading this) is about the very finite time we have each day and how it is spent. Yes, we get 1440 minutes per day - no more no less. Each day we make choices about how we live those 1440 minutes.

During the workday, I’m constantly asking myself - how can I best use the available minutes in front of me to accomplish a task before my next meeting. Driving home I’m asking myself what must get done on the way home (get gas, errands) or once at home (cook, brush the cats, work on my intuitive business, check on my elderly parents) for remainder of the day.

I’ve always been goal-oriented and proud of being able to achieve those goals. But I have to remind myself it’s not always about how much DOING is happening in the time available, but allowing myself space for BEING in the time available.

So how have you spent time BEING this weekend? I caught up with cherished girlfriends, and saw Rocket Man at the movies. I spent this morning with a cup of tea and a purring cat on my lap. Spending time BEING with friends and pets and relishing those moments really helps me to recharge. Then I’m better able to handle what comes my way on Monday for the next 1440 hours.
