Besties really are the best

Besties come in all forms and in many aspects of life. I am grateful be the observer of bestie relationships with close friends, spouses, family members, pets and even animals in the wild. Two of my cats, Colette and Cheddar are besties. They are often near each other, especially when it comes to observing the outside world through windows and doorways. They sometimes snuggle for nap time, but more often groom each other in a gentle, lazy and relaxed way.

So I ponder - what is it that makes a bestie relationship? Is it deep respect? Companionable energy? A sense of comfort in one another? Trust in sharing personal space? I think it is all of this and more.

In my daily gratitude practice, Iā€™m reminded to send an energetic hug to my besties in life, because really those relationships are what make life and love worthwhile.
